HEMA is a chain of department stores in the Netherlands. from the eary 60's on for a period of about 20 years HEMA sold Lima models. For approximately 10 years these models were sold under the brand name of "Lucky Life". There were starter sets and separate sale items, trains accessories and track. In the 1970's the brand of these models changed to HEMA. In most cases these models were similar to the Lima counterparts, only to be distinguished by the box they came in. But, very few models were exclusively made for HEMA and only available in the HEMA stores.
Lucky Life starter set with blue SNCF BB9200 and CIWL Orient Express coaches. The blue engine looks quite good with these coaches.
The blue BB9200 is one of the exclusive HEMA editions. It even carried the Lucky Life branding underneath the frame. This engine came in a few versions:
- all blue with old style motor (very rare) - blue with yellow stripes and old style motor - blue with yellow stripes and G-Moor
Then, there was a quite unique 4-wheel gondola with coal load. Inscriptions say it's a FS wagon, even if it carries the big Nederlandse Spoorwegen double arrow logo
