Fixing it to the roof of the goods shed is easy, because I used wood and cardboard as materials.
As glue I will use serviette varnish & glue, matt from Marabu. Very suitable for cardboard and
paper and also holds well on wood. I had seen it by chance and the result was top on the first try!

Hi,

good news, I ordered the first module this week and waiting now for the parts to come. Frankly said, it's quite late, I actually wanted to be ready with the first one by November. On the other hand, since yesterday we know that the Kaltenberg exhibition is cancelled for 2020 due to Corona restrictions. So, I gained another year, which gives me a lot of time to build it and even maybe start a second module (which is not finally decided). Allright, have to start the first one, when it finally comes around, and see how I will succeed. Yet I have to find a "theme", just a plain landscape and track, or something different, maybe a road and a railway crossing. 50cms width is not a lot.

Anyway, you'll see the process here in this forum

Last Friday evening when I was in the hobby room again after a long time and continued to work on the rain gutter, i thought about what i could use the Beton Look modeling clay for. I had bought the modeling clay for testing for the construction of concrete walls, but I was not really convinced of the final result. When i looked at the dried pieces i wanted to use as a concrete wall, i had the idea to use them as kerbstones.The 1.2cm wide strip could be cut surprisingly well with the cutter. Spontaneously i glued them onto a piece of cardboard and glued a small piece of footfall sound insulation for the sidewalk.

For the surface i spontaneously glued two layers of copy paper to the sidewalk. For the street side i glued four layers of copy paper. After the first treatment with highly diluted dark grey watercolor, the surface was visually very convincing.


After one hour of drying, the surface was still slightly damp, so i painted the sidewalk and road surface with Vallejo Stone Grey paint with a brush.


After about 8 hours drying time i treated the surface with ochre pigments and applied a little Vallejo Wash Dark Brown.


It is just a test piece that i did spontaneously. For me not quite what i want yet, but i will build the roads on the layout on this basis.


At the same time i created a small piece of stone wall with footfall sound insulation after an example by Luke Towan. Also only for testing, not yet implemented so exactly. But also a way which i continue to follow.







Besides, since today there is a new toy on the way. An Anycubic Mono 3D printer. Surprisingly cheap and its predecessors have always scored well in the tests for two years. It won't be easy for the first few prints, but at this price, there's not much to say and the 3D printing services are quite expensive. I have planned to use the printer for small equipment in and around buildings.

I almost forgot, I also did not want to withhold from you my work for the construction of the lasercut goods shed from MKB Modellbau. The model is very nicely done and easy to assemble. However, I have also additionally modified the kit here to achieve a better image for the viewer.
Fast habe ich es vergessen, ich wollte euch auch meine Arbeiten für den Bau des Lasercut Güterschuppen von MKB Modellbau nicht vorenthalten. Das Modell ist sehr schön gemacht und einfach zum zusammenbauen. Ich habe aber auch hier zusätzlich den Bausatz modifiziert um ein besseres Bild für den Betrachter zu erreichen.


I cut out the corner pieces from the base plate to support the walls, so I can more easily install the lighting and interior later.
Aus der Bodenplatte habe ich die Eckstücke aussgeschnitten um die Wände zu stützen, so kann ich später einfacher die Beleuchtung und die Inneneinrichtung einbauen.


Since I did not like the imitation roof beams, I decided to create them entirely from fine linden wood profiles. Before cutting, I sanded the linden wood profiles with steel wool, which gives a nice structure.
After cutting, I glued the profiles with non-water based wood glue and colored them with stain (dark oak).
Da mir die Dachbalken imitationen nicht gefallen haben, habe ich mich dazu entschieden diese vollständig aus feinen Lindenholzprofilen zu erstellen. Vor dem zuschneiden habe ich die Lindenholzprofile mit Stahlwolle
geschliffen was eine schöne Struktur ergibt. Nach dem schneiden habe ich die Profile mit nicht Wasserlöslichem Holzleim verklebt und mit Beize (Eiche Dunkel) eingefärbt.


Since there are no cutouts for the beams in the kit, I had to cut them out. Since everything was already built, I had to be careful that I do not slip when cutting.
Da keine Aussparungen für die Balken im Bausatz vorhanden sind, musste ich diese Ausschneiden. Da schon alles aufgebaut war, musste ich aufpassen das ich beim schneiden nicht ausrutsche.

The finished roof viewed from the inside. On the beams is the inner cardboard plate with the wood imitation from the kit directly glued. Unfortunately, the imitated wooden slats are the length, but can be well concealed because it is not so easy to look under the roof later.
Das fertige Dach von innen betrachtet. Auf die Balken ist die innere Kartonplatte mit der Holzdarstellung vom Bausatz direkt verklebt. Leider sind die imitierten Holzlatten der länge nach, lässt sich aber gut kaschieren da es
später nicht so einfach ist unter das Dach zu schauen.


On the first cardboard plate is also glued the second cardboard plate with the brick representation. The brick cardboard plate I have painted before gluing with a matte clear lacquer so that the cardboard in the further color treatment does not absorb the paint so much.
Auf die erste Kartonplatte ist auch die zweite Kartonplatte mit der Ziegeldarstellung verklebt. Die Ziegel Kartonplatte habe ich vor dem verleimen mit einem matten Klarlack lackiert damit der Karton bei der weiteren
farblichen Behandlung die Farbe nicht so stark aufsaugt.

Die original Plattform des Güterschuppens war für meine Bedürfnisse zu klein und hätte auch vom Mauerwerk her nicht meinen Vortstellungen entsprochen. Somit habe ich eine neu Plattform nach meinen Vorstellungen aus Karton konstruiert. Für das Mauwerk habe ich mich dazu entschieden, dieses aus einzelnen Steinen zu erstellen die ich aus Hartschaumplatten zugeschnitten habe. Die einzelnen Steine habe ich dann direkt auf die Plattform geklebt. Beim kleben habe ich darauf geachtet das zwischen den Steinen feine Fugen entstehen.












Nach abschluss der Klebearbeiten habe ich das Mauerwerk mittels Airbrush grundiert. Dazu habe ich eine Sandfarbene Grundierung genutzt. Nach dem Grundieren haben ich einzelne Steine mit hellen Brauntönen mittels Pinsel bemalt um eine lebendigere Struktur zu bekommen. Das gesamte Mauerwerk habe ich zusätzlich noch mit Black Wash behandelt. Nach diesem Vorgang habe ich die gesamte Plattform mit mattem Klarlack lackiert um die Kartongrundstruktur zu schützen für den nächsten Arbeitsgang. (Von den Lackierarbeiten habe ich leider keine Bilder gemacht)
Die Fugen des Mauerwerks habe ich mit feinem Modellmörtel aufgefüllt und anschliessend mit einem Pinsel befeuchtet um den Mörtel zu festigen. Nach dem Austrocknen des Mörtel und der Reinigung habe ich nochmals die gesammte Plattform mit mattem Klarlack lackiert.








Auf der Plattform habe ich zwei Schachtdeckel platziert, ein Betondeckel für einen Kabelkanal und ein kleiner Stahldeckel für die Wasserzuleitung. Das weisse Papier ist die Schablone für weitere Blätter die ich dann auf der Plattform aufschichten werde um eine schöne oberflächen Struktur zu erhalten.




Das Mauerwerk hat die ersten kleinen Details erhalten, ein kleiner Stahlring der in früheren Zeiten mal zur Fixierung von einer Laderampe genutzt wurde und ein einfacher Aufstieg von der Gleisfeldseite her. Dieser bleibt aber meistens ungenutzt da Klettern zu anstrengend ist für die Bahnmitarbeiter.








Um das ganze wirken zu lassen gab es traditionell vor Feierabend eine kleine Stellprobe. Dem genauen Betrachter stechen sicher noch ein zwei kleine details ins Auge. Diese Bauschritte werde ich im nächsten Beitrag aufzeigen.

Maurizio, thank you very much. I try to represent everything as coherently as possible and hope that not too many representation errors creep in the area of railroad technology. For most of it I have to rely on old pictures from the 1970s.

The around is supposed to represent an Italian village at that time. I mix styles from the regions of Ligura (Trainstation Building base: Alassio), Lombardia, Tuscany and Veneto (Name of Trainstation: Isola Vicentina).

Hallo Zusammen,

Ich bin wieder so richtig fleissig am Bauen und muss auch Zeitaufholen, wird aber einigermassen klappen.

Allgemeine Infos:
- Der Abstand meiner Oberleitungsmasten wird neu von Modulende zum ersten Mast je nach Spur zwischen 10-15cm betragen. Somit sollte dies weiterhin mit den bestehenden Modulen passen wo wir auch ca. 15cm definiert hatten vom Modulende zum ersten Mast.
- Oberleitungsmast Abstand zum Gleis, kann das Lima Montageblech für die Masten als Referenz genommen werden.
- Neu nutze ich Sommerfeldfahrdrähe 0.5mm.
- Begrasung weiterhin in Matttönen mit Grünmaterial von Woodland Scenics. (Details in einem vorhergeehnden Post ersichtlich)
- Farben nutze ich primär von Vallejo, meistens eher matte Farben .
- Geäbude zum teil MKB Lasercut als Basis oder Eigenbau (wird an der Austellung vieles im Rohbau sein)
- Verkabelung weiterhin gleichbleibend.
- Schienen, Profil 2.5 oder 2.7mm
- Rückfahrgleise (Rückseite), wenn möglich Flexgleise von GT, Roco alt, Lima oder Piko A-Gleis.
- Ausstattung von diversen Herstellern oder 3d-Druck.

Ich werde später mal versuchen alles in einem Dokument zusammenzufassen, so wird es mit den Baugrundlagen etwas einfacher.


Oberleitungsmaterial wie Lima Masten, Sockel für Lima Masten kann bei mir angefragt werden. Für ein paar Module reicht es noch.

After it has been quiet from my side for a long time around the module plant I make but times a very small picture update. It is nothing new, but has changed a lot. A small drop of bitterness remains, I have unfortunately not yet managed to find a satisfactory solution for working neon tubes in 1:87.

Nachdem es von meiner Seite lange ruhig gewesen ist um die Modulanlage mache ich doch mal ein ganz kleines Bildupdate. Es ist nichts neues, hat sich aber stark verändert. Ein kleiner Wehrmutstropfen bleibt, ich habe es leider noch nicht geschafft eine Zufriedenstellende Lösung zu finden für funktionierende Neonröhren in 1:87.
