In the year 1977 Lima introduced a very impressive freight wagon, the 10-axle transformer carrier. It was based on the melted iron torpedo wagon, from which Lima took the four bogies and the frames. Insead of the torpedo tank it carried a huge transformer. There were no inscriptions on this model except a "Philips" signboard on the transformer load. The 1977 catalogue showed a painting of the model with a yellow transformer. This version was made, although for only one year.
The next catalogue in 1978 showed a photo with the same car and a green transformer.
This wagon is rather impressive due to the lot of wheels. It is quite high and not built according to European clearance limits, so if you want to use it, check the height of your tunnels. Operation under catenary is not possible.
