A few year ago there was an offer on eBay. It was a German V160 diesel in portuguese colours. I never saw one of those from Lima before, but at least Lima could have done it. They had the same model in Renfe as well. I eventually was the winner of the auction and a week later, I was the proud owner of this loco.

When I opened the box I could smell the paint, everything was clear then. But, it actually is a absolutely stunning paint job. Even the bogies show a different gloss than the rest of the engine. To be honest, yes, I was dissappointed. But after letting the whole thing settle a bit, I liked it. And finally this model has a very special place in my collection. As a fake and as a beautie.

Hi Martin,

a quite well done painting, as it seems. Did the "manufacturer" even improve the lighting or somewhat else? I presume, the seller built more than only one model?

Don't know if it was a small series, just saw only one of them and hit the button. Due to the rather fragile clips holding the body to the frame I never opened this engine, but I don't think the seller altered the interior. After I realized that it's just a "fake" I put it back to its box and left it there since then.

The paintjob is absolutely well done, especially the warning stripes on the front and the CP logo. It was impossible to see it on the pictures on eBay.

Martin
